West Chapel Residence, Black Mountain NC

posted November 9th, 2015

The second and final round of structural steel was craned into place for the living room and screened porch, as well as main level and lower level exterior terraces on the downhill (view) side. The 32′ long,  26″ deep beams allow for the 16′ cantilever of the screened porch at the far end of the living room.  The outermost edge of the screened porch perches you 30′ above grade and near the top of the tree canopies.  The long range views to the mountains beyond is simply stunning.

The remainder of the wood framing will commence in the coming days followed by the first round of window installation.
