South 20th Street, Philadelphia PA

Philadelphia holds a special place for Scott Huebner, and Brickstack Architects.  While not technically Scott’s childhood home (that would be Levittown & Langhorne- 25 miles away), he spent many years and lived many experiences here.  Despite what many outsiders will tell you, Philly is a wonderful city, rich in culture and beautiful architecture.  Brickstack Architects doesn’t often work in Philly, but once in a while an exciting opportunity presents itself.

The housing type most identified with Philadelphia is the rowhouse.  There are endless variants, but the basic concept is roughly 14′-18′ wide, and 2-5 stories tall.  The beauty is in its simplicity, and efficiency.  Homeowners claim a little slice of the city from ground to the sky.  And what a glorious view from above.
